Welsh Rallies 2007

June 16 - 17th.

The annual National Transport Festival of Wales ( formally the Swansea Festival of Transport), will take place as usual in Swansea on the above dates informs Ashley Lovering .  As in 2006, all entrants to the show will once again receive a commemorative model courtesy of Swansea model company, Oxford Diecasts. Final confirmation of the location is currently awaited.

Date to be Confirmed

The Welsh Heartlands Transport Festival  will incorporate a special road run for buses to commemorate the 90th Anniversary of both the municipal transport departments of Caerphilly UDC  and the Bedwas & Machen UDC.

This notable South Wales municipal transport landmark event will feature a  road run for buses and ancillary vehicles such as recovery units will start in  Bedwas and following a route which will feature a challenge to many of the older vehicles....the infamous Aberbargoed Hill which was followed  by the former Bargoed to Markham route of the  West Monmouthshire Board which started exactly 80 years ago !

The anniversary road run will commence on Saturday at 11.00 and will form a mouth watering opener for the Welsh Heartlands Transport Festival being staged at Blackwood showground on Sunday.

At the special request of CCBC councillors in both Caerphilly and Bedwas & Machen, owners are bing asked if they will be ready to carry members of the public on one of the three stages of the road run. Each passenger will be issued with a commemorative ticket clearly stating that they are carried at their own risk.

And the dates of this event...final comfirmation for the date are awaited from the CCBC due to restrictions on the use of the showground at Blackwood.

As vehicle numbers will be limited, especially for buses on the road run,  if any reader has a bus and would like to take part,  you can complete the following  form to express your interest and this is a non binding application,  formal invitations will be sent out early in 2007 and priority will be given to those who have already expressed their interest before other applications will be accedpted from around the UK.

YES, I am interested in taking part in the Saturday Road Run providing that the dates do not clash with other events in which I intend to attend and would like to be kept informed by email or regular mail.  I understand that completion of this form places me under NO obligation whatsoever.

*I would consider attending on....
